New Window Treatments

My Grandmother always used to say that you can't trust March.  We ended up with over 4" of snow on Friday and since it snowed most of the morning, school ended up being closed.  Saturday and Sunday melted all of the snow with beautiful sunny weather and over 50 degree temperatures.

The drapes I ordered from Pottery Barn arrived on Thursday.

I spent a couple hours in Calico Corners trying different fabrics and nothing really worked that well.
Here are the Pottery Barn drapes laid on the couch.  You can see how it picks up the right colors.
It has the right blue and the golden tone picks up the wall color.  It's a much more subtle alternative to the previous drapes I had made that the dry cleaner shrunk.
The new look is so different from the old look...I'm not totally sure how I feel about it yet.
I don't know...what do you think?

I liked the old look with the bright colors a little bit better. But this new fabric is beautiful laid on the couch, somehow it looses its color as a drape - but maybe just because of the lamp.I think with some natural light, the look will be different.

I like them, Judy. It's different but softer in color. I think they are just a little more subtle and they do go very well with what you've got going on.

I really like them. They are much more subtle, and allow the stenciled wall to be the star of the show, I like that. Hugs, Marty

Hmmmm, I love the boldness of the curtains you previously had. Although I like the new Pottery Barn drapes, they dont stand out as much. I guess it depends on what you want to focus on. Dont get me wrong I like the new drapes, I just like the previous ones a bit more.

Seems that you're favoring the old panels. Could you just add a solid band of fabric to lengthen the old curtains?

I liked the old panels better than the Pottery Barn panels. But they both look good!

I really, really like the new look, Judy. I liked the old look, too, but this is so fresh and bright looking. It picks up the colors of the room beautifully and I think it blends nicely with everything. I say try them for a while- otherwise you can lengthen the old ones with a band of contrasting color at the bottom- xo Diana

I really like them both. One is a softer, more muted look, the other a little more vibrant. I can't ever make decisions!

Your grandmother is right. March is so unpredictable. This weather is crazy!

The new panels are beautiful! The softer color go very well with the rest of your decor. By the way, I am starting a new Link party today on my blog. I am excited and scared at the same time. LOL Please, stop by. I need all the support I can get! :)

Your new treatment is awesome, especially the paisley print that you got there going! I like how it matches the throw pillows. That print makes everything light up and look fresh. One of these days, I'll order paisley curtains too and change the horrible window treatment I have at home. Haha!

This is a great example of how you can make a certain room indulgent without having to spend a lot of money in decorating. What makes it wonderful? It's the great combination between the drapes and the shades. And the light fixture emphasized it even more. I like the comforting effect it brings forth to the room.
